Please note: This course has replaced The FA Level 2 in Coaching Football, which has now been discontinued.
The UEFA C Licence is a qualification designed for coaches who are looking to develop their skills in helping players improve and fall in love with the game through practice and competition.
Delivered through a blend of virtual and face-to-face learning, our expert Coach Developers will guide you through the course, supporting you as you tailor it to your players. The course will provide you with practical resources and signpost you to future learning to help you continue to develop as a coach.
The course will last for approximately 16-20 weeks, supporting the principles of spaced learning and giving you the opportunity to reflect and practice what you’ve learnt in real-time.
As places on this course are extremely limited, you must meet the following criteria to enrol:
- • You must be actively coaching a group of players who regularly undertake training and play in organised or competitive fixtures. This is crucial, so you can be assessed on the key elements of the course and be eligible to complete the qualification.
- • You must be coaching within the county where the course you’re enrolling on is taking place. Our Coach Developers will be required to travel to visit you during the course, so it’s important you’re within close travelling distance.
- • You have completed Introduction to Coaching Football or The FA Level 1 in Coaching Football.
- • You have valid Introduction to First Aid in Football (previously known as FA Emergency Aid) and Safeguarding Children Course (previously known as Safeguarding Children Workshop) qualifications.
If you’re unable to secure a place on the UEFA C Licence but would like to continue developing your coaching skills, please visit the ‘CPD’ section of your local County FA website and keep an eye on The Boot Room and our Twitter for our latest session plans and resources.
Here's how the course works:
You will attend six face-to-face course days as part of the UEFA C Licence, developing your skills as a coach and building knowledge that you can apply to your role.
The delivery days are split into three modules, each lasting two days:
-Understanding players and their game
-Helping players love and learn football through practice
-Helping players love and learn football through matchday.
One of our Coach Developers will support you in your own context and environment with your players, providing individual support and feedback that you can use to develop beyond the course.
Between course days, you will be supported with virtual peer and individual sessions with our Coach Developers ensuring effective progression and action planning.
