The sides were very evenly matched throughout, however the Cannock Chase League Division 1 side seized the initiative in the first half and lead right until the 70^th minute when Pete Williams of Eaton Park smashed home the equalising penalty. It was the first goal that Talbot had conceded in the competition in over 250 minutes of football.

Both sides played good football in an entertaining encounter and the game was destined for Extra-Time before Sam Smith of the PDSL Division 1 side scored a deflected free kick, wrong-footing the Talbot goalkeeper in the 81^st minute.
