The game got off to an even start; however it was the Cannock side that broke the deadlock early on 9 minutes with a Kieran Whale finish. Soon after, Hawkins Inex doubled their lead after 22 minutes when Liam Sandland slotted home.

The teams went in at half time and it was the Potteries side that came out to avenge their two goal deficit and they were duly rewarded on 52 minutes when Oliver Brereton fired home to bring the score back to 2 v 1.

However, the PDSL side’s joy was short lived when Hawkins Inex quickly responded with a fine finish from Ben Wardle on 55 minutes to reinstate their 2 goal advantage.

The teams battled on; however no further goals meant that Hawkins Inex lifted the Sam Kimberley Trophy and became County Champions at Marston Road.
