Ian Whitehurst Joins Staffordshire FA's Board of Directors

Ian Whitehurst will join the Staffordshire FA Board of Directors as an Independent Non-Executive leading on Legal and Compliance.

We are delighted to confirm that Ian Whitehurst will join our Board of Directors as an Independent Non-Executive leading on Legal and Compliance. 

Ian is a practicing Barrister who specialises in Criminal Law, Regulatory Law, and Disciplinary Law with an emphasis on Sport. He represents elite athletes and coaches in safeguarding and disciplinary procedures whilst also sitting as a Disciplinary Chair and Panel Member with both the Staffordshire FA (Football Association) and the Football Association. 

Staffordshire born Ian brings a wealth of experience and will provide essential support around Law & Compliance as the Board looks to build on good Governance and to Safeguard Staffordshire Football moving forwards - into our new strategy ‘Supporting Staffordshire Football to Enhance our communities.’

Chief Executive Officer & Company Secretary Adam Evans said: “We are delighted to welcome Ian onto the SFA (Staffordshire Football Association) Board, and his skillset will complement its makeup by providing expert knowledge in a key area for the Association. His appointment aligns to our approach of recruiting proud Staffordshire people who want to give something back by providing bespoke support for Staffordshire Football.

Ian is the seventh Independent Non-Executive appointment to the Association’s Board of Directors.
