Staffordshire FA Support Brown Recycling Skip Art Challenge
Staffordshire FA were delighted to support one of our partners – Brown Recycling – with their fantastic Brown Recycling Skip Art Challenge.
Staffordshire FA skip - artwork designed by local artist Chloe Breeze
All proceeds from the project are being donated to the Dougie Mac Hospice, a Staffordshire hospice which provides essential care and support to individuals facing life-limiting illnesses.
The Skip Art Challenge, developed in partnership with community interest company Short Supply, is a celebration of artistic expression, environmental sustainability, and community spirit. The project involved ten talented artists transforming ordinary skips into extraordinary works of art, whilst also making a positive difference to our community.
On completion of the artwork, the ten skips were then proudly displayed along Piccadilly in Hanley, Stoke-on-Trent, for an exhibition launch event on Wednesday 4th September. The skips will be on display in the city centre until Sunday 8th September, prior to then going out and about across Staffordshire and Cheshire as part of the Brown Recycling fleet.

Mitch Brown, Co-Managing Director at Brown Recycling commented: “We were excited to launch the Brown Recycling Skip Art Challenge, and to commission ten talented artists to transform our skips with their creative designs. The finished skips are all fantastic. We’re delighted that people will have the chance to see them all at the Exhibition along Piccadilly and hope as many as possible will come along and enjoy this colourful and fun display. It’s also great to be able to support Dougie Mac. They do such great work for those with life limiting conditions, and we are always happy to do our bit to help their fundraising.”
Gareth Thomas, Commercial & Partnerships Lead at Staffordshire FA commented: “We were delighted to support the Brown Recycling Skip Art Challenge, a fantastic initiative and one which has raised significant funds for the local Dougie Mac Hospice. Brown Recycling are a valued partner of Staffordshire FA, supporting the work that we do to keep growing and developing grassroots football across Staffordshire, so when the opportunity arose to support this initiative, we were only too pleased to get involved. The creativity shown by all of the artists has really transformed the skips into works of art, and we were delighted that the brilliant local artist, Chloe Breeze, who worked on the skip which was sponsored by Staffordshire FA, also managed to get a reference to local football clubs in her design too!”.
