STAFFORDSHIRE FA BECOME PARTNERS OF STAFFS UNI FOOTBALL COACHING AND PERFORMANCE COURSE
The new BSc (Hons.) degree will be supported by Staffordshire FA through their professional streams/networks, and directly supporting the delivery and development of the course commencing September 2018. The newly formed partnership will bring both Staffordshire University and Staffordshire FA closer together as the County FA will be delivering internships in community and academy settings, providing work placements for second year students, and providing opportunities for students to undertake CPD in order to support the course.
Course Leader Ashley Gill stated “The partnership with Staffordshire FA is excellent for the development of our students. Staffordshire FA are a not-for-profit organisation, who invest significant funds back into football at a grassroots level to increase participation, with an added emphasis on developing women’s football. The opportunities that this partnership presents can only be of benefit to our students and make them that much more employable.”
Kevin Staples, Head of Strategy and Investment at Staffordshire FA said “This new course programme will not only provide a fantastic opportunity for students to attend a bespoke education programme to enhance their knowledge and understanding of coaching, it will also provide a support network for grassroots football in Staffordshire through offering practical experience for students via clubs and coaching programmes. We see this as a great way to help develop the future generations of coaches and support current grassroots programmes.”
The introduction of the new Football Coaching and Performance degree provides people who are considering a career in the football industry, perhaps have an interest in football and coaching, or have an ambition to further develop theoretical and practical knowledge and skills within the sector with the perfect foundations to gain practical and theoretical experience in the sector.
