United For Neve Tour
Vicky Collins, Senior Regulatory Officer at Staffordshire FA, is currently on a mission to raise funds for her daughter Neve's medical treatment.
Neve suffers from a rare condition called PANDAS (Pediatric Autoimmune Neuropsychiatric Disorders Associated with Streptococcal Infections), which has resulted daily seizures, paralysis of the legs, hallucinations, OCD, and depression.
Neve's condition is so severe that the only treatment that could give her a chance at a normal life is IVIG (Intravenous Immunoglobulin) therapy, which is not readily available in the UK. As a result, Vicky and her family have started a fundraising campaign to towards the cost of Neve's treatment in America.
To support this fundraising mission, Staffordshire FA has planned a tour of Staffordshire on Sunday 30th April, visiting every National League System club along the way. This tour will be in the form of walking, running or cycling five different routes. The goal is to raise awareness and funds for Neve's treatment while also bringing the football community together.
Vicky Collins said: “I just want to say thank you to everyone who has donated so far, and thank you to everybody who is taking part in the ‘United For Neve’ tour. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
“It's never been lost on me since I worked at Staffordshire FA what a football family is. It's never been lost on me that working in football is not just about having a job in football, but all our clubs, all our leagues have become genuine friends to me.
“All of the support is very overwhelming. It is really overwhelming. Seeing the Go Fund Me page increasing it's incredible.”
