COUNTY YOUTH U15 SUNDAY CUP MATCH REPORT

Burntwood Dragons were crowned County Youth U15 Sunday Cup champions for the first time as they beat Four Oaks 1-0 at Bilston Town.

The opening exchanges saw both teams testing each other's defences, with Four Oaks showing early promise with a few close-range opportunities. Dragons, however, remained resolute, denying their opponents any clear-cut chances.

As the game progressed, Dragons' Turner found himself with a golden opportunity to break the deadlock at the 20-minute mark, but a heavy touch let him down, squandering the chance. Four Oaks responded by upping their offensive efforts, coming close to scoring on several occasions, only to be denied by resilient defending and a stroke of luck with a deflected shot.

Just before halftime, O'Gara of Four Oaks threatened to breach the Dragons' defence, but the vigilant goalkeeper dashed off his line to make a crucial tackle. Despite Four Oaks' dominance in chances created, the teams went into the break deadlocked at 0-0.

The second half resumed with Four Oaks looking to capitalise on their momentum. However, their hopes were dashed early on when a goal was disallowed due to an offside decision. Dragons, meanwhile, were not without their opportunities, with Turner's free-kick from the edge of the box narrowly sailing over the crossbar.

As the clock ticked towards the final stages of the match, tension mounted. Whitby of Four Oaks found himself through on goal, but once again, the Dragons' goalkeeper stood tall, denying the opposition with a spectacular save.

In the 68th minute, Burntwood Dragons stunned Four Oaks with a well-worked goal. A display of fantastic wing play saw the ball pulled back to Stone at the edge of the box, who coolly slotted it home through the goalkeeper's legs.

With only a few minutes remaining, Four Oaks threw everything forward in search of an equaliser, but it was Burntwood Dragons who looked more likely to add to their tally. As the final whistle blew, it was Burntwood Dragons who emerged victorious, claiming a hard-fought 1-0 win over Four Oaks in an enthralling encounter.
