Autism Awareness Weekend
Autism Awareness in Staffordshire Football Weekend 2024
Staffordshire FA will once again be hosting its annual Autism Awareness Weekend which will take place on 13th & 14th April 2024, and we would like to encourage as many of our clubs and leagues to support the campaign.
We ask clubs and leagues to get involved in any way they can to help spread key messages to understanding more about 'What is Autism' and how we can support individuals with autism within grassroots football in Staffordshire.
A few ideas on how you can support include:
- Create a video tour of your facility showing from arrival to pitches, changing rooms, clubhouse etc.
- Raise awareness of what autism is within your club and your members
- Share key messages and resources across your social media & website
- Utilise our digital resources to share hints and tips with your coaches
- Attend an Autism Awareness in Staffordshire Football workshop to learn more
However, be creative and spread awareness in any way you can across your club/league!
By pledging your support of the awareness campaign we can provide you with:
- Digital Resources (A select of digital infographics, flyers & symbols for to use via social media & to distribute as you wish throughout your club/league)
- Sensory Pack (An opportunity to apply separately for one of our free sensory packs if not already accessed, we have a limited number still available and the application link will be shared afterwards.)
Please complete your pledge here by Sunday 7th April 2024.
Please Note: Autism awareness is encouraged all year round, so if you are not able to support directly on this weekend but would like to access the resources available anyway please complete the form below to use as you can throughout the season or to dedicate a specific date yourself later in the year.
Please join Staffordshire FA to spread awareness and create an inclusive environment for individuals with autism in grassroots football in Staffordshire.
