More people than ever are playing small sided football across the country, due to the flexibility of fitting in a game of football with your mates around other commitments.
We know that small sided football helps to keep people involved in the game for longer. With its fast, fun, and flexible format, you and your friends can still feel all the benefits of playing the beautiful game, just on a smaller scale.
Across the country there are thousands of small sided teams and this figure is continuing to grow and expand at a rapid rate. Small sided football is identified in the National Game Strategy as one of The FA’s key growth targets for adult football. The popularity of this format of football is a reaction to changing work and leisure patterns and a move towards more people embracing ‘pay and play’ football.
The laws of small sided football have been revised for the benefit of the players, referees, and league organisers. The FA encourages all small sided football centres to adopt these uniform laws.
